Basic eligibility rules

Team composition

Each team consists of one coach, three contestants, and at most one reserve. The coach must be an authorized faculty or staff member of the school, verifies eligibility, and serves as the official point of contact. Contestants and reserves may not serve as coaches.

Ethics

Contestants shall respect their opponents, abide by the rules, compete for the honor of themselves, their teams, and their schools, and protect the reputation of the competitive programming community.

Rules

Before the contest, the coach must submit a form declaring that the team will follow the rules. Violations of the following rules result in disqualification.

  • No machine-readable preparation: Machine-readable source code and templates, including AI-generated materials, are prohibited. Printed textbooks, dictionaries, notes, and code are allowed.
  • Contact teammates only: Contestants may not communicate with coaches or other teams during the contest.
  • Limited internet access: Internet access is limited to problem downloads, submissions, clarifications, and the scoreboard.
  • One computer: Each team may use only one computer for coding and submission. Extra monitors and printers are limited to reading and printing.
  • No malicious actions: Any action that interferes with the contest or its fairness is prohibited.
  • Proctoring: A coach must appoint at least one person to monitor the team throughout the contest, or the team must record every screen used and retain the recordings. Failure to comply results in disqualification.
